The Concept

ASN Bank changes up the financial world with their new campaign. They demonstrate in a playful way how money can actually make you happy. The financial world is all too often represented in a cliche image. This gives ASN Bank enough reason for to change it to a more contemporary image. The story of the Creature of Habit is honest and the voice over takes you back to those dreamy bed time stories.

Koert van de Ploeg, Colourist at Ambassadors describes it as – an ordinary looking forest where nothing is what it seems to be. “Together with Vincent Lammers I worked on keeping a certain realism within a fictive world. By thickening the canopy within the forest we emphasise the darkness surrounding the Money Badger, but at the same time adding light streaks and spots to sympathise with the Creature of Habit. Together with the whole team we came to a unique balance between light, dark and colour while retaining a realistic concept”

Animation Awards | Ambassadors Wins 2017 Muse Creative Awards

The Idea

The realistic fabric furs, emphasises the tangibility of the characters which accentuates their primary characteristics. “The Creature of Habit wears a woollen sweater, where the Money Badger wear a tie and is made of a striped flannel suit fabric” explains Lammers. This contradiction is also very audible in the music which makes a combination between a playful and a serious tone. “The music needed a severe sound that has a lively translation on screen”, explain Sebastiaan Roestenburg, Founding Partner and Composer at Ambassadors. “So I started looking for sounds that triggers the imagination like the melody of the Celeste piano. It instantly take you to a fable world”.

The film, a masterpiece with an extensive eye for detail, is also very apparent in the animation. Watch Creature of Habit here!

2017 Muse Creative Awards Platinum Winner: The Mosquito Killer Billboard by NBS

Zika virus is no longer a local Brazilian issue. It is a now a global threat. The main objective of this campaign was to raise awareness around the cause locally. It hopes to offer the people a new option to fight the Aedes Aegypti mosquito that carries this disease. Brazil has been bombarded with headlines against the Zika virus for the past few months. All major TV channels, radios, magazines and newspapers were talking about it.

2017 Muse Creative Awards Platinum Winner: The Mosquito Killer Billboard by NBS

But the organized society, in an overall point of view, were not doing much to fight the mosquito. In fact, the population in general relies on the government to win this inglorious battle. The big idea was to use the only media that is on the streets side by side with the population. Thus, out of home media promotes the cause. Most importantly, it is actually effective to kill mosquitos on the way. After some studies we discovered that the totems installed almost in every sidewalk of the city could be adapted and transformed in the perfect media to release the project. 2017 Muse Creative Awards Platinum Winner: The Mosquito Killer Billboard by NBS

In an apocalyptic future a man is searching for something. On his way through the wasteland he passes the remains of some of Copenhagen’s most iconic buildings (Queen Louise’s Bridge, Round Tower and The City Hall). He finally arrives at his destination at a dark and sinister looking place. He lights a flare, and the iconic wolf from Copenhell’s festival venue appears in front of him. The earth cracks open and hell breaks loose. Welcome to Copenhell 2017!

Country : Denmark

COPENHELL is Denmark’s greatest rock and metal festival. It has drawn metal fans from both within and outside the country’s borders to Copenhagen since the beginning of 2010. The peninsula called ‘Refshaleaøen’ right in the middle of Copenhagen is the epicenter of these three days of hell on earth. The raw, industrial surroundings are the perfect background for the brutal decibel bombardment from COPENHELL’s three stages. The theme for this year’s Copenhell is  “The Apocalypse” and therefore a natural set off for the commercial.

In the opening scene “The Scavenger” is getting a signal on his device. Then, he sets off searching the wastelands. To link the scenery to Copenhagen we placed iconic buildings from the city in the environment. The Scavenger is also the center in the print campaign for the festival.

Project Title : Verner Panton Panthella Mini

Category : Video

Country : Denmark

Louis Poulsen requests Frame.dk to create a spot for Verner Panton’s lamp design. “We couldn’t contain our excitement!”, indicates Frame.dk. They are big fans of Panton’s style, so it was a great pleasure for them to work with one of his designs. The “Panetella Mini” lamp is a smaller version of the original Panthella lamp, launched in 1971. It features a metal shade and comes in 11 delicious colours.

Muse Creative Awards | Verner Panton Panthella Mini Product Advertising

The legendary Danish designer Verner Panton uses powerful colours, organic shapes and uncommon materials. He designs everything from furniture to full art installations that looked, and probably felt, like an acid trip. Unsurprising, when you think that he completed a lot of his work in the 60’s.

Muse Creative Awards | Verner Panton Panthella Mini Product Advertising

As a starting point, Frame.dk investigates on Panton’s aesthetic universe. Then, they commence designing a tour de force of lamps, eye popping colours and abstract shapes. All of those is an inspiration by the man himself. Louis Poulsen also encourages them to give it their own personal touch. Thus, they had the freedom to interpret the unique style of Verner Panton. They did it with a unique twist. Besides, the video establishes a lighter, more contemporary tone!

Muse Creative Awards | Verner Panton Panthella Mini Product Advertising

In the end, it was all about creating something warm, happy, alive, intelligent and playful – just like Panton himself. To create a setting for the lamps to shine (no pun intended) and allow the focus to remain on these beautifully designed objects.

Innovative Movie Promo Wins 2016 Vega Digital Awards

Innovative | Alice through the Looking Glass "Wonder Mirror" Wins 2016 Vega Digital Awards

Company : Part IV

Project Title : Alice Through The Looking Glass “Wonder Mirror”

Client: Walt Disney Pictures

Category : Innovative / Experimental

Country : United States

The Challenge

Disney challenged us to find a way to promote “Alice Through The Looking Glass”. We conceived a magical mirror, using cutting edge face-tracking technology to transform anyone into a beloved Alice character. We built custom kiosks that traveled all over the world, including a two-month residency at Disneyland. Users were emailed a photo & Instagram video of their experience.

Innovative | Alice through the Looking Glass "Wonder Mirror" Wins 2016 Vega Digital Awards

‘Walt Disney Pictures challenged us to find a way to promote their new film, Alice Through The Looking Glass, at the 2015 D23 Convention in Anaheim, CA.  We had a 40′ x 40′ space, a blank canvas to build our own little corner of Wonderland.

The Idea

We conceived a magical mirror, using cutting edge face tracking technology to instantly transform anyone into a beloved Alice character.

Our goal was to not just use a simple 2D overlay, but to fully transform the user with both makeup and 3D elements, tracked perfectly in real-time.  And of course, to create a cool shareable takeaway from the experience.’

Innovative | Alice through the Looking Glass "Wonder Mirror" Wins 2016 Vega Digital Awards

The Execution

‘We began by designing a whimsical Wonderland inspired space with plush grass, cobblestone pathways, mushrooms, topiaries, and costumes from the film.  To best accommodate the anticipated line for this attraction at D23, we decided to build four of our Wonder Mirror kiosks to minimize wait time.

Each kiosk had a larger mirror with a duplicate feed placed on the outside so friends, family, and passing fans could stand and watch same the magical results from users’ screens inside the kiosks.

With our designs completed, we partnered with Premiere Displays to build and finesse our vision into a reality.  The physical build for Alice began with dozens of artisans hand crafting our little corner of Wonderland.’

Innovative | Alice through the Looking Glass "Wonder Mirror" Wins 2016 Vega Digital Awards

Innovative | Alice through the Looking Glass "Wonder Mirror" Wins 2016 Vega Digital Awards

We quickly learned that this style of a fully immersive face tracking execution hadn’t really been accomplished before. There were several examples of just 2D texture wrapping and 3D paste-on head replacement, but nothing as robust and transformation we were envisioning.

After several months down the rabbit hole in research and development with multiple cameras, trackers, and hardware solutions, we decided to build own custom software to interface with raw facial tracking data.

This custom application allowed us to position our occluded 3D elements and pair them with our texture wrap makeup effects. Overall, this creates a true first-to-market experience. It is a revolutionary progression of a traditional “photo booth,” now truly allowing real-time augmented transformation.’

Director Marie Hyon on creating for Estee Lauder:

“In the spirit of Albert Einstein, we wanted to create a film that will challenge our imagination. We love the story of Dr. Max Huber and the myth behind his journey to find the cure to heal his burnt skin. We believe the myth is more powerful than the reality. Our film focuses on the poetic legendary tale rather than the reality and its facts. Besides, reality leaves nothing to the imagination. For the first La Mer film, we focused on introducing Dr. Max Huber and telling his story. For the follow up film, we focus mainly on the fascination of exploring the unknown.
