Creative Director, Callan Woolcock, says, “The works are highly illustrative in nature – everything is hand drawn. Animation was the perfect medium for these messages, it gave us so much flexibility to breathe a human life into the plight of these animals, that are facing uncertain futures.”

To play on the aspect of adaptation, which is the main theme of the production company, I visualised it by having a shape morph into different primitives to progress through a path of obstacles.

As the logo consists of two triangles, one leaned against the other, I baked this into the animation by ending the piece with the shape morphing into a pyramid and merging with another.

Creative Pick: 2017 Muse Creative Awards Platinum Winner: Copenhell by TBM, Denmark

Company : TBM

Client: Copenhell

Project Title : Copenhell

Category : Video

Country : Denmark

In an apocalyptic future a man is searching for something. On his way through the wasteland he passes the remains of some of Copenhagen’s most iconic buildings (Queen Louise’s Bridge, Round Tower and The City Hall). He finally arrives at his destination at a dark and sinister looking place. He lights a flare, and the iconic wolf from Copenhell’s festival venue appears in front of him. The earth cracks open and hell breaks loose. Welcome to Copenhell 2017. COPENHELL is Denmark’s greatest rock and metal festival, which has drawn metal fans from both within and outside the country’s borders to Copenhagen since the beginning of 2010. The peninsula called ‘Refshaleaøen’ right in the middle of Copenhagen is the epicenter of these three days of hell on earth, and the raw, industrial surroundings are the perfect background for the brutal decibel bombardment from COPENHELL’s three stages. The theme for this year’s Copenhell is “The Apocalypse” and therefore a natural set off for the commercial.

Copenhell by TBM, Denmark

In the opening scene “The Scavenger” is getting a signal on his device and sets off searching the wastelands. To link the scenery to Copenhagen we placed iconic buildings from the city in the environment. The Scavenger is also the center in the print campaign for the festival.

We wanted the journey to be hypnotic and relentless, evoking feelings of forward motion as if being carried by the smooth but powerful electric engine from Jaguar. We wanted to create an ‘infinite zoom’ effect where the entire film becomes one seamless trip through the formation of the new electric car from Jaguar.

Forwards. That’s where the answers lie…” and so begins Jaguar’s journey into the world of electrically powered cars.

Frame drives Jaguar’s all-electric concept car forward and takes you on a hypnotic ride through an abstract and hypnotic universe to launch Jaguar’s all new electric sports car: the I-Pace Concept.

The film is directed by Tom Crate from Frame and all post production done at Frame.

Creative Pick: 2017 Muse Creative Awards Platinum Winner: Verner Panton Panthella Mini by Frame.dk, Denmark

Muse Panthella Mini 01

Company : Frame.dk

Client: Louis Poulsen

Project Title : Verner Panton Panthella Mini

Category : Video

Country : Denmark

When we were asked by Louis Poulsen to create a spot for a lamp designed by Verner Panton, we couldn’t contain our excitement! We are big fans of Panton’s style, so it was a great pleasure to work with one of his designs. The “Panetella Mini” lamp is a smaller version of the original Panthella lamp, launched in 1971. The Panthella Mini features a metal shade and comes in 11 delicious colours.

Muse Panthella Mini 05

The legendary Danish designer Verner Panton is known for his use of powerful colours, organic shapes and unconventional materials – designing everything from furniture to full art installations that looked, and probably felt, like an acid trip. Unsurprising, when you think that he completed a lot of his work in the 60’s. As a starting point, we investigated Panton’s aesthetic universe and commenced designing a tour de force of lamps, eye popping colours and abstract shapes, inspired by the man himself. We were also encouraged by Louis Poulsen to give it our own personal touch so we had the freedom to interpret the unique style of Verner Panton with a unique twist and establish a lighter, more contemporary tone.

Muse Panthella Mini 03

In the end, it was all about creating something warm, happy, alive, intelligent and playful – just like Panton himself. To create a setting for the lamps to shine (no pun intended) and allow the focus to remain on these beautifully designed objects.

2016 Vega Digital Awards Canopus Winner: La Mer Part 2 by Psyop, United States

Vega Awards - Lamer

Company : Psyop

Project Title : La Mer Part 2

Client: Estee Lauder

Category : Online Video | Animation

Country : United States

La Mer Part 2 is inspired by light and the transforming effect it has to surfaces. This element of change is magical to us, from the spectacular colorful displays of a sunrise, to the northern lights, to the illumination of light on the surface of water or ice and even beyond the surface. Inspired by Dr. Max Huber, we tell a story of one traveler who represents us all.

Lamer Muse Awards

“I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” – Albert Einstein

Vega Awards - Lamer

Director Marie Hyon on creating for Estee Lauder:

“In the spirit of Albert Einstein, we wanted to create a film that will challenge our imagination. We love the story of Dr. Max Huber and the myth behind his journey to find the cure to heal his burnt skin. We believe the myth is more powerful than the reality. Our film focuses on the poetic legendary tale rather than the reality and its facts. Besides, reality leaves nothing to the imagination. For the first La Mer film, we focused on introducing Dr. Max Huber and telling his story. For the follow up film, we focus mainly on the fascination of exploring the unknown.

Lamer Muse Awards

Curiosity is the key to staying young. And the wonders of nature inspire the curious ones to seek out its secrets, and question what is beyond or beneath the surface. La Mer Part 2 is inspired by light and the transforming effect it has to surfaces.
