Human Rights Video | Sophia Kyriacou Wins 2016 Muse Creative Awards

Noon Visual Creatives commissions Sophia Kyriacou to design a television programme brand on the various aspects of human rights, simply called, Human Rights. To express the various aspects of human rights Sophia Kyriacou turns the concept of the Zoetrope. The Greek word, Zoe, means life and tropos. Literally translating to the “wheel of life”, the video portrays this scenario with a Ying and Yang approach.

Human Rights Video | Sophia Kyriacou Wins 2016 Muse Creative Awards

Zoetrope establishes with water; without it, there simply is no life. As the viewer is taken above the tiers, the imprisoned dove flying free contrasts the negative scenario of the prisoner. Above a Syrian child wearing a life jacket suggests to have travelled across the Mediterranean Sea to find hope. In contrast of this scene, there is a young girl oblivious, happily playing with a spinning top.

Human Rights Video | Sophia Kyriacou Wins 2016 Muse Creative Awards

An essential part of the brief was the opening title sequence had to withstand repeated viewing, packed with stories. Besides, it have to be able to deliver both English and Arabic end frame typographical versions with identical visuals.

Nike Campaign | Air Max 2017 “Go Lighter, Go Longer”

The 2017 Nike Campaign “Go Lighter, Go Longer” for Air Max by D & AD aim was to create a campaign with the maximum visual impact. A campaign that leaves you breathless. One that makes you look twice.

Nike Campaign | Air Max 2017 "Go Lighter, Go Longer"

Go Lighter, Go Longer.

The concept behind go lighter, go longer is in fact a metaphorical exploration of air and the negative space it occupies.

A series of visual metaphors portrays the Air Max 2017’s ultralight support and maximum comfort. The scenarios are in fact inspirations from everyday run encounters.

Muse Creative Awards | The Play Revolution Business Logo Design

Play is one of the most effective tools for keeping human relationships fresh and exciting. The Play Revolution is an energetic team. They are trained to go into any workplace that is suffering from disconnection and staff friction. It is their responsibility to help them out of it through activities, creativity and play.

The brief requested creativity, connection and an approach that was child-like but not childish.

Muse Creative Awards | The Play Revolution Business Logo Design

The Meccano pieces represent the relationships within a workplace. While being a toy, they encourage creativity in their potential. By pairing stylised Meccano pieces “drawn on a strict grid” with a bold colour scheme we achieved a combination of balance and creativity while still having the option for a bright symbol that would be taken seriously by a crew of 50 lawyers who were being asked to play an egg and spoon race.

Raising Awareness on Sexually Transmitted Infections and HIV

Muse Creative Awards | Be Sexy, Be Smart Digital Campaign by PlusOne

Soa Aids Nederland asked us to help raise awareness about sexually transmitted infections and HIV among people living in the Netherlands from sub-Saharan Africa, Suriname, the Dutch Antilles and Aruba.

To have an impact on this audience, we developed an approach which would resonate culturally. The film needed to balance clarity with playfulness to open minds and engage with a very serious message. It had to be sensitive to boundaries, yet direct enough to provoke action. We therefore set about writing a script with an authentic and powerful tone-of-voice, which avoided being patronizing.

Mostly inspired by African art we’ve crafted expressive hand-drawn graphics and fluent transitions to impart a personal touch and create a powerful visual language, which is easy to relate to for the target audience.

It is accompanied by an evocative sound track which intertwines with the narrative, creating a piece that will hopefully resonate with its audience and be very memorable. We hope you like it!

5 Reasons Why Entering Awards is Good for Business

Why Entering Awards is Good for Business

It’s not just the winning that counts!

No matter what the size of your business you can enter a creative award. There are a huge variety of awards around from local to national. You can find out about awards through your local chamber of commerce, local and business press or simply searching the internet for relevant awards.

Deciding what awards to enter could be challenging. But, it’s important to weigh up the time and effort it would take to enter against the potential gains.

However it’s not just the winning that counts!

With resources often stretched putting yourself forward for creative awards is not always the top of the agenda. Here are five reasons why simply entering an award could be good for your business.

1. FREE MARKETING

Business awards can be an overlooked tool in your marketing toolbox. Just being shortlisted can improve brand awareness and promote your business to new customers. Make sure you maximise PR exposure. Update your marketing materials with the award logo including business cards, website, literature, email and sales material. Awards celebrate hard work and success and are great PR opportunities. It’s fantastic to be recognised so it’s important to make sure that people know what your business has achieved. Winning a business award can open doors to getting contracts, finding new supply channels and breaking into new markets.

2. BENCHMARKING

The application process for entering a business award can often force you to look at your business from a different perspective and compare yourself to your competitors. You’ll need to make sure that you stand out from the competition whether that’s through innovation, diversity, growth, customer service, investment in people and strategic thinking. This will help you think about ways you could be doing things better and identify areas for improvement. Besides, it is one of the ways your business could benefit and that could be more valuable than the prize itself.

3. INCREASED CREDIBILITY

A business award win, short-listing or nomination can act as a 3rd party endorsement for your business. A win can give a seal of approval to your activities. A sign of quality for potential customers, it can form as part of your sales pitch. It can also help with relationships with suppliers. Overall, it’s a great way of differentiating your company from competitors as it will send out positive signals to customers.

4. ATTRACT TALENT

Awards recognise the hard work and achievements of your employees so winning one can help boost staff morale and improve motivation. Employees focus on what’s great about the company they work for and can feel proud to be a part of it. This can be maximised by making sure staff feel they get the recognition they deserve by holding a staff meeting to celebrate your victory. Staff could be invited to a glitzy awards ceremony or dinner which can yield networking opportunities as well as being a great night out.

5. EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION

Business awards validate your hiring stature among new recruits. By pitching yourself as the best you can attract the talent you need to push your business forward. Increased employee morale will also help attract and retain new recruits.
