Rather than focusing on manufacturing prowess, we want to demonstrate the emotional connection the product forms with end users, by speaking to gatekeepers, in this case – the parents. With an empowering message to erase discomfort with courage, as part of growth during childhood.

Company :  Passion Film

Project Title : Shakti Bhog Brand Film: Celebrating The Spirit Of Philately

Category : Corporate Image

Country : India

Shakti Bhog Foods Limited, is a company that was born out of the deep concern to provide hygienic staple food to the people. Its main business lies in the production of Wheat and Rice. After all before gaining independence in 1947 from the British, India was a land of princely states and kingdoms without a proper national identity. Even after independence, India is culturally diverse in terms of its people, languages and traditions.

Muse-Awards-Passion-Fruit

POSTAGE STAMPS with its wide usage came as a solution to be used as communication tools across the length and breadth of the nation. Issued by Post & Telegraphic Office nationally, STAMPS through their engraved imagery successfully communicated the Planning Commission’s initiatives with respect to food and agricultural policies.

Muse-Awards-Passion-Film

Building on this historical and cultural legacy, Postage Stamps have been adopted in the telling the story of Shakti Bhog in this film. The film tells this journey in an innovative way celebrating the spirit of ‘Philately- the study of stamps and postal cards’.

Creative Pick: 2016 Muse Creative Awards Gold Winner: The Human Rights Zoetrope by Sophia Kyriacou, United Kingdom

Muse-Awards-Sophia-Kyriacou

Company : Sophia Kyriacou

Project Title : The Human Rights Zoetrope

Category : Motion Graphics

Country : United Kingdom

Muse-Awards-Sophia-Kyriacou

I was commissioned by Noon Visual Creatives to design a television programme brand on the various aspects of human rights, simply called, Human Rights.

To express the various aspects of human rights I turned to the concept of the Zoetrope. The Greek word, Zoe, means life and tropos, wheel, so created a “wheel of life” scenario with a Ying and Yang approach.

Muse-Awards-Sophia

The Zoetrope is grounded by water, without it; there simply is no life. As the viewer is taken above the tiers, the imprisoned dove flying free contrasts the negative scenario of the prisoner. Above a Syrian child wearing a life jacket suggests to have travelled across the Mediterranean Sea to find hope and is contrasted by a young girl oblivious, happily playing with a spinning top.

An essential part of the brief was the opening title sequence had to withstand repeated viewing, packed with stories and deliver both English and Arabic end frame typographical versions but with identical visuals.

Muse Creative Awards Expanding in 2017

Muse-Awards-Times-Square

International Awards Associates, Inc. (IAA) will expand its Muse Creative Awards competition in 2017. The Muse Awards seeks to find and recognize the inspiring achievements of small and medium-sized design and advertising companies, and the creative professionals who are the foundation of the global marketing communications industry. Deadline for entry is February 28, 2017.

The premier edition of the Muse was a sleek statuette of a crowned woman, with levels of win represented by a platinum, gold or rose-gold finish on the crown. Each year, in keeping with the fluidity of industry trends, the award was intended to be redesigned by a different award-winning artist.

“We’re keeping our promise to the international creative community,” Kenjo CK, President of IAA Awards said. “Last year’s competition received more than 1,200 entries. We recognized and rewarded tremendous creative work from 33 countries on six continents, and 2017 will be even better.

Muse-Creative-Awards

Kenjo noted that the February 2017 deadline offers a special advantage for the ultimate winners of the Muse Award. “Winning so early in the year leaves plenty of time to promote this prestigious award among peers and clients.”

The breadth and depth of entries has inspired expanding the number of categories for entry, from 128 in 2016 to 183 in 2017. In addition, new subcategories for websites, video and mobile apps will help align with the burst of creativity occuring in advanced technology. Entries in all categories will compete for a sleek statuette with Platinum, Gold or Rose Gold finish, depending on the level of win determined by a panel of judges.

The Muse Creative Awards is open to small and medium-sized firms, and freelancers. In addition to the award, small grants may be given to firms who personify social responsibility and community service in their communities.

All marketing and communications professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of marketing and communication collateral are eligible, whether they work in print, visual, online or audio materials. A small fee is required per entry, and is used to produce, administer and judge the competition.

Deadline for entry in the 2017 Muse Creative Awards competition is February 28, 2017.

Creative Pick: 2016 Muse Creative Awards Platinum Winner: Be Sexy, Be Smart by PlusOne Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Company : PlusOne

Project Title : Be Sexy, Be Smart

Category : Motion Graphics

Country : Netherlands

Soa Aids Nederland asked us to help raise awareness about sexually transmitted infections and HIV among people living in the Netherlands from sub-Saharan Africa, Suriname, the Dutch Antilles and Aruba.

To have an impact on this audience, we developed an approach which would resonate culturally. The film needed to balance clarity with playfulness to open minds and engage with a very serious message. It had to be sensitive to boundaries, yet direct enough to provoke action. We therefore set about writing a script with an authentic and powerful tone-of-voice, which avoided being patronizing.

Mostly inspired by African art we’ve crafted expressive hand-drawn graphics and fluent transitions to impart a personal touch and create a powerful visual language, which is easy to relate to for the target audience.

It is accompanied by an evocative sound track which intertwines with the narrative, creating a piece that will hopefully resonate with its audience and be very memorable. We hope you like it!

5 reasons why entering awards is good for business

Why-Muse-Awards

It’s not just the winning that counts!

No matter what the size of your business you can enter a creative award. There are a huge variety of awards around from local to national. You can find out about awards through your local chamber of commerce, local and business press or simply searching the internet for relevant awards.

Deciding what awards to enter could be challenging but it’s important to weigh up the time and effort it would take to enter against the potential gains.

However it’s not just the winning that counts!

With resources often stretched putting yourself forward for creative awards is not always the top of the agenda. Here are five reasons why simply entering an award could be good for your business.

  1. FREE MARKETING
Business awards can be an overlooked tool in your marketing toolbox. Just being shortlisted can improve brand awareness and promote your business to new customers. Make sure you maximise PR exposure and update your marketing materials with the award logo including business cards, website, literature, email and sales material. Awards celebrate hard work and success and are great PR opportunities. It’s fantastic to be recognised so it’s important to make sure that people know what your business has achieved. Winning a business award can open doors to getting contracts, finding new supply channels and breaking into new markets.
  2. BENCHMARKING
The application process for entering a business award can often force you to look at your business from a different perspective and compare yourself to your competitors. You’ll need to make sure that you stand out from the competition whether that’s through innovation, diversity, growth, customer service, investment in people and strategic thinking. This will help you think about ways you could be doing things better and identify areas for improvement and is one of the ways your business could benefit that could be more valuable than the prize itself.
  3. INCREASED CREDIBILITY
A business award win, short-listing or nomination can act as a 3rd party endorsement for your business. A win can give a seal of approval to your activities and is a sign of quality for potential customers, so can form part of your sales pitch. It can also help with relationships with suppliers. It’s a great way of differentiating your company from competitors and will send out positive signals to customers.
  4. ATTRACT TALENT
Awards recognise the hard work and achievements of your employees so winning one can help boost staff morale and improve motivation. Employees are focused on what’s great about the company they work for and can feel proud to be a part of it. This can be maximised by making sure staff feel they get the recognition they deserve by holding a staff meeting to celebrate your victory. Staff could be invited to a glitzy awards ceremony or dinner which can yield networking opportunities as well as being a great night out.
  5. EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION
Business awards validate your hiring stature among new recruits. By pitching yourself as the best you can attract the talent you need to push your business forward. Increased employee morale will also help attract and retain new recruits.
